ARCM Activities in January
At the end of 2022, ARCM researchers and research partner have finished a research project “The Fishery Workers and Short Mackerel Fishermen”. The research period started from October 2021 to December 2022 collected data in two field areas Prachuapkhirikhan and Samutsakorn provinces.
The project is a research project in a research project series “Thailand’s Short Mackerel” funded by Thailand Research Council. Each year, thousands of Thai worker travel to European countries to take up berry-picking jobs, the number has increased in contrast to less income they received. They either migrate by themselves or through broker’s service and many face several challenges (See table below).
